This “School Of Rhythm” CD idea began as a collaboration between myself and my Sunday afternoon music students, Ed and Angus Rochen. We decided to expand our lessons and jamming to create a seven song CD. The group recorded a couple songs we had been working on and a few new ones that we wanted to write.
This CD collaboration effort gave is the ability to showcase our individual talents, as well as allowing 12-year-old Angus Rochen an outlet to write and create his own drum tracks to my all original instrumentals. This was Angus’ very first ever CD and he was under tons of pressure.
Ed had his hands full too, creating his own original song Time To Myself. Even Kim Rochen got in the mix singing some tasty backing vocals on the track. Everyone came through with flying colors and even made the deadline. This was followed up by a live concert performance in 2011 for bot the guitar and music students and myself.
