The 2011-2014 Charvel Skatecaster SK-1 FR Floyd Rose plays off of the original Charvel Surfcaster legacy from the 1990s. Featuring solid Mahogany everything, neck through design with a compound radius, and a 24 fret fingerboard with abalone inlays. Tone comes from two EMG active humbuckers, an EM85 at the neck and EM81 at the bridge.

The Charvel Skatecaster was released as part of the Charvel Desolation series in 2011. The primary models differ by their hardware, electronics, and construction: All Skatecaster models share the iconic offset-waist body shape made of solid mahogany and a 24-fret fingerboard. While they were well-regarded for their playability and aggressive tone, the series has been discontinued.
