This CD began both out of necessity (I was out of CDs…) and as a good summer project. With so many great tube amps to play through in my home studio (A Soldano Hot Rod 50 and a Marshall JCM 800) I thought writing and recording a new CD would give me a chance to put them through their paces. The amps were just begging me to play them as loud as I possible could. The amps didn’t disappoint.
This new CD contains both all original songs and a few songs where I play guitar over pre-recorded backing tracks. Recording the guitars for this CD took about eight weeks in my home studio. I hope you enjoy! — Johnny D.

All original music was written, performed and composed by John E. Davis. John E. Davis uses DiMarzio pick-ups and GHS Boomer strings exclusively. Bass tracks were recorded on a Fender Precision Bass. Drums were recorded using a Boss – Dr. Rhythm Drum Machine. Guitar tracks are recorded on heavily modified Fender Stratocasters. Solos and backing tracks recorded with a modified Marshall JCM 800 and a Soldano Hot Rod 50 and a Digitech 2110 Tube Guitar Preamp. Guitars were recorded with Shure PG-57 mics in stereo. All backing guitar tracks were double tracked in two takes. I run a Marshall 1960A slant 4×12 cab with four Celestion speakers.
